Prix Jardin d'Europe

Every year, one of the co-organizers of Jardin d'Europe organizes a festival presenting 10 to 14 works of emerging choreographers selected both from the European dance market and from works co-produced by Jardin d'Europe. During this festival the Prix Jardin d'Europe will be issued by a professional jury.

 

In August 2013, the 6th Prix Jardin d'Europe was awarded within the frame of[8:tension] Young Choreographers’ Series at ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival. The jury award endowed with EUR 10,000,- and a two-week artistic residency went to Amanda Apetrea (SE) & Halla Ólafsdóttir (SE/IS) for the production “Beauty and the Beast”.

 

In August 2012, the 5th Prix Jardin d'Europe was awarded within the frame of [8:tension] Young Choreographers' Series at ImPulsTanz - Vienna International Dance Festival 2012. The prize went in equal shares to: Eeva Muilu & Milja Sarkola (FI) for the production "In Human Disguise", they received EUR 5.000 and an artistic residency; and furthermore to Florentina Holzinger (NL/AT) for the production "Silk".

 

In October 2011, the 4th Prix Jardin d'Europe was awarded in the context of eXplore dance festival in Bucharest. The award winners Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz (PT) receive EUR 10,000,- for the realisation of a new production. Furthermore, the jury granted two artistic residencies at ImPulsTanz respectively at Workspace Brussels / Ultima Vez to Clément Layes (DE/FR) and Cecilia Lisa Eliceche (BE/AR). 

 

In 2010 the Prix Jardin d'Europe was awarded within the context of the Istanbul based festival iDans. The jury, comprised of the Critical Endeavour participants, awarded the performance E.I.O. by Maria Baroncea, Eduard Gabia & Dragana Bulut. The value of the award is 10.000 EUR in concepts of production for a new creation. Two of the residencies offered by the Jardin d'Europe network were awarded to Fabián Barba (A Mary Wigman Dance Evening) and one of them to the Bloom! collective (City). 

 

In 2009, this event took place in Brussels within the frames of the "Working Titel Festival", organized by Workspace Brussels in cooperation with Ultima Vez. The First Prize of the Prix Jardin d'Europe was awarded to “The Farewell” from Claire Croizé (FR-BE) and consists of a Jardin d'Europe Coproduction of 10.000 EUR for her next creation.
